Is there a way to rename masks?

Instead of just keeping the default "Mask 1,2,3,4,5..." can the user rename them somehow? Right-clicking only provides "Track Mask" option. Thanks forum!

    Highlight the mask in question in the timeline.  Hit the return key.  Give it a new name.

    I am using After Effects 2020.  The highlight return key method is not doing it for me.  Is anybody familiar with how to rename a mask in After Effects 2020?

    Ok, highlight the mask, right click below the layers, chose rename, and then rename your mask 🙂
