Is there any way to Rotobrush freeze in background?

Technically, rotobrush only needs this one layer it is operating on. For instance, Warp Stabilizer is also able to do the processing in the background. But Rotobrush freeze is in the foreground holding everything up...

I tend to render out a video after using Rotobrush, as it does like to pre-process a lot of the time.  Once you have a result you're happy with, render out a ProRes file with an alpha channel.  You can then turn off the rotobrush layers (or start a new comp) and if needed, you can always re-render to the same file name.

No, there is no option to freeze on background. Let them know in the correct channel (Help > Provide Feedback). Maybe in the next AE iteration is something they look into.
