Issue when importing Illustrator files - Retain layer sizes

Hi there!

Whenever I try to import a layered Illustrator file with the option Composition - Retain Layer Sizes on, all the layers ar imported as empty, with 1x1 px size an positioned all the same place (0.5, 1079.5). So, the comp comes empty.

When I use the option Document Size, the file appears correctly.

I already tried with After Effects 22 and 23, and saved the AI file in Illustrator 2022 and CC, same issues.

I suppose it is because the AI file has some problems. You can try to save it like a copy in AI 10. And use this file in AE.

Let's ask the obvious question since the panel is visible: Does this happen with Overloard or when using the native import function in AE and possibly converting them to shape layers? Also how do things look in AI? Have you checked placment on the artboard and reset transforms and bounding boxes?

Hello!

When I import with Overlord, everything comes fine. But I need it to be AI layers instead of shape layers, because I need to apply the Puppet tool over then - I already tried and the outcome is a bit weird.

I attach the AI file to check 🙂
