Issues typing

Hi everyone,

I'm currently having issues with Aftereffects 2024 on my Mac.

I've attached below a screen record showing the issue. It is when I type out anything in the text tool. It comes up with a blue outline. It will only type out certain letters but, very slowly & sometimes not at all. Everything else working fine besides this issue. 

Every time you see a blue outline in the recording, that's me typing. It could be something simple. I could be just having a noob moment! hahaha
