Issues with Indian text in AFX

Hi!

I've produced some videos for a multi-national company, and has been asked to produce some adaptations to other languages.  Two of them were Hindi and Assamese, two indian dialects.

They gave me the translations in an excel sheet.  I've built the videos in After Effects and the subtitles in Premiere.  When I copied and pasted the subtitles in Premiere it worked perfectly, but texts in After Effects were a mess, even when I used the same font.  I'm not sure why, but it pastes different characters.

I've discovered that if I paste them in Illustrator, and then copy again and paste in After Effects it helps a little, but it's not completely solved.  I'm running out of options.  Can anybody help me?

Big thanks!

Start by actualyl re-installing in a version appropriate for Indian/ Far East languages and/ or check the type engine settings in the preferences. That said, AE will likely never render everything 100% correct due to its font engine not supporting all features for ligatures and other contextual glyph substitutions. Depending on the actual font you may still need to work with pre-baked graphics.
