Question

Keep a finger over the image inserted into the green screen of a tablet

Hello, I have a video showing a tablet with a green screen. The tablet is rotated back and forth and after several unsuccessful attempts to track the corner points I found the tip to try Mochi. With Mochi it worked well. But now I have the problem that a finger swipes over the screen a few times. When I insert something on the screen, you don't see that swiping finger any longer. How can I get the hand and finger back over the image that was inserted on the green screen? I have been looking for hours for a video or at least a written solution, but found nothing.

Duplicate your footage, put it over the top of your new image layer, and key out the green of the screen.

If the key doesn't work well, you may just need to rotoscope the hand. Make sure you're only workign on the parts that cross the image though. No need to do extra work here! You can try the new Roto Brush in AE or you can just animate masks by hand. I say masks because almost every roto job is easier if you have multiple masks (depending on the shot, of course).

As a side note, I usually don't like having green on the screen of a phone or tablet when I'm planning to replace the content. It's usually harder to make it look right with reflections and stuff if I'm keying the screen away. I prefer to have the screen turned off entirely, roto the hand, and just set the layer with the image to Screen blending mode.

Thanks Szalam, I will read up on that or hopefully find some videos now that I know better what I am looking for.
