Keeping track of assets: does AE have a Project Manager like Premiere?

Is there an equivalent of the Project Manager from Premiere in AfterEffects?  I keep running into the same issue, where I think I have saved a backup of a project only to come back to it later and find many of the assets are missing.  Yes, in a perfect world, all necessary assets would be in the same folder and this wouldn't be an issue.  But that is not my world.  I use the Project Manager in Premiere as the only reliable way to avoid this problem, and was very sad not to find a project manager or equivalent in AE.  Any suggestions?  Thanks much!

Hi MKAP10, Thanks for reaching out.

Yes, AE has an equivalent called Collect Files. Go to File > Dependencies > Collect Files, choose "All" under Collect Source Files, and AE will copy the project plus every asset it references into a single new folder with relinked paths. That's the reliable way to make a self-contained backup.

Hope that helps! Let me know if there are any other questions.

    Thanks,
