Hi,
I’m using AE 2025 and while doing a composition edit, i tried to add a keyframe for position. i did that thousand of times in this project and,  now, on a specific file, the keyframe aren’t showing anymore BUT are still existing. It’s only on a specific file on a specific comp. I need to keep this specific file. Is there a way to make them appear again ?

If the expert’s suggestions don’t help, please share a screenshot (un-cropped) or a screen recording that shows the problem. It’ll help us better understand the issue.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Thanks,

    Nishu

In case you’re talking about the Composition panel, make sure that View > Show Layer Controls is enabled.

While the Composition panel is in focus, choose View > View Options… and check that Keyframes is enabled in the View Options dialog box.

In Preferences > Appearance > Motion Path, make sure that something other than “No Motion Path” is selected.

    Hello,

    None of this worked.
BTW i’m sur that it’s a bug. everything you told me to do did nothing. The behavior of the keyframe is the intended one BUT i just can’t see the dot. i can move between 2 with J and K. if i’m on a keyframe and click to move it if there was somethiong selected, it does move the keyframe. It’s a graphical problem.

I managed a workaround by just putting the clip in a comp. Not clean but it does the job.

    Hi @Suplink:

Try using Animation > Reveal Properties with Keyframes while no Layers are selected.

This shows all properties that have keyframes.

It may also help to zoom out completely in the Timeline.  To do that, press semi-colon (“;”).  The first press zooms all the way in and the second press zooms all the way out.  You’ll want to be zoomed all the way out.

It may also help to use J and K to jump to the prior visible keyframe or next visible keyframe.  If you select the Layer that should have the Position keyframes, use Shift K and Shift K to jump to keyframes on that Layer only.

I hope you’re able to track the Position keyframes down and continue animating.
