Layer size keeps shrinking in final comp

I'm having a perplexing issue with a comp within a comp within a comp within a comp.

Everything looks fine until I get to the final comp, where this sub-sub-sub-comp (the double doors in the screenshots) is suddenly tiny. The final comp is in 3D, but turning off the camera changes nothing. I also tried disabling the 3d setting on any (and then all) of the subcomps/layers and this didn't show any change in the issue either. None of the other layers within these comps are having the same issue.

Note: The doors were originally an asset that I bought in a toolkit, and I am altering and animating them. But, I don't see any expressions affecting the scale of this subcomp.

I am running AE 24.0.1 (build 2) on Windows 11 Pro.

Below is the final comp (note the tiny doors on the courthouse, next to animated character), the two intermediary comps, and the lowest-level comp (double doors).

When you collapse transformations on 3D layers, the camera and lights in the main comp render the 3D layers in the nested comps (pre-comps). My first guess is that the doors are a 3D layer that has been moved away from the camera in the main comp. Try digging through the comp flow chart and turning off collapse transformations on the nested comps that contain the doors.

Thanks much for your speedy reply. This doesn't seem to be it; I tried your suggestion of turning off collapse transformations on the doors comp (as well as on the courthouse comp that it's part of) and it causes no change. In addition, I have ensured that the z values are 0 on the doors (and its component layers) as well as on the courthouse comp. Any other ideas you'd be kind enough to share?

I can see that the Coutrhouse buldings comp, the Doors layer is a 3D layer (as are the other two). Do they need to be 3D layers?

In the double doors comp, there appears to be a single shape layer for both doors. This is also set as a 3D layer, but there doesn't seem to be a need for this.

If you make the courthouse and all its components 2D layers, After Effects will treat them as if they were a single image and this shoud avoid any collapse transformation issues.

Well, your converted comp probably doesn't make any sense since the shape layers seem to be flooating somewhere in the middle of nowhere, which inevitably might cause a cascading effect with anchor point offsets and relative positioning. Impossible to know, since there are no values visible Check the group transforms and clean up the comp, then crop it to the actual size of the door for things to make more sense and be more manageable.

Thanks for your speedy suggestion! I tried cropping the doors comp to the exact dimensions of the doors, and it makes no difference. I admit that I don't have the best grasp of how anchor points can cause cascading changes. I'm also not sure what you're suggesting in terms of "check the group transforms and clean up the comp." Would you be kind enough to explain a little more? Thanks again for your help.
