layers cannot be moved starting from the end

Hello!

I dragged audio tracks into my timeline, they were visible and normal, but after about an hour of editing the actual layer bar disappeared and I can't move it. The waveform is visible and is audible. Restarting doesn't fix.

How many layers do you have in the comp? How much ram? Are you trying to Edit a long movie in After Effects? There is a limit to the number of layers that can be displayed in a single comp, and display problems can be caused by a lack of system resources.

After Effects is not a movie editor, AE is for creating shots or short sequences that you can edit into a movie in an NLE like Premiere Pro.

Upd: after a while, the layers appeared on their own. What could be causing this and how can it be avoided?
