Library/preferences/adobe folder error in After effects

I recently updated After effects. When I try to open the app, I get this error: "error while accessing the preference files inside '.../library/preference/adobe/after effects/23.6'"

 

When I go into the library folder, I see that my mac is setup so that the Adobe folder in question is located under ".../library/Application support/adobe"

 

I have already gone into my perferences setting and allowed AE file and folder access. The problem seems to be in the program scripting itself. I am unsure how to fix this.

Could you share a screenshot of the error? Try providing full disk access to After Effects.
