Question

Line will not align center

Hi,

I am not sure if I am doing this right, but it appears that sometimes a line that I draw with the pen tool will not let me use "center" in the align options.

It seems really strange (AE CC 2017):

When I create the line with the pen tool and I use "Shift" + click to create the second point, and try to hit align it will not let me.

If I do the very same without the "Shift" option, it will let me center it.

Do you have an explanation for this?? Please help.

    Hi Kevin-Monahan,

no - the issue is the same. No fix provided so far. I use 14.2.

specify the exact steps you take so we can try to reproduce it in your software and determine if this is a user error or a software. if you can, show as a video capture of the whole process or at least some screenshots.

Snapping/ constraining and alignments are somehow broken in CC 2017 - not in an obvious way, but your scenario could be one of those combinations. Perhaps it gets fixed in an update.

This is a user-to-user forum. Folks from Adobe do stop in on occasion, but if you want to be sure Adobe sees your problem, you'll need to file a bug report. They might not respond, but they WILL see it (those go directly to the AE team) and they will log it accordingly.
