Hi everyone, I created a project with after effects and I would like to apply an effect to the whole composition, I decided to create a new project, import the previously created aep file and apply the effect to this.
Everything works, but if I change the first project the changes are not reflected on the new project, how can I do it? thank you.

    Correct answer Rick Gerard

I have a video with scribble effect like this: SCRIBBLE Effect from KENDRICK LAMAR in After Effects - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pOjQ9_fYDQ

and i would apply also this bass effect: How To Create a Bass Bounce Effect on the Beat of Your Music/Song in After Effects - TUTORIAL - YouTube

and i able to do it with a videoclip, but i am not able to apply it on a multi layer project

If you want the same audio driven effect on multiple layers the easiest thing to do is Pre-compose. There is also nothing keeping you from applying the same expressions used in the only barely adequate tutorial to an adjustment layer with the Transform Property applied. I think you are way over thinking the process. Always try and simplify. I would just drop the scribble comp on top of the bass effect comp, then pre-compose both layers and run through the "convert audio to keyframes" technique that is explained in the tutorial.

Is there a reason you just don't nest your main comp inside another one in your main project?

AEP project files are not linked when they are imported in the same way footage is. You end up with a new, completely independent project.

If you need to change the original you have to make the changes to the comps that are inside your project folder because they are no longer linked to the comps in the original AEP file.
