I just updated Adobe After Effects to 2022. In premier I was editing some footage that I wanted have text track an object so I brought that into aftereffects using the links media feature in premier a few weeks ago. Premier keeps saying that the text tracking file is missing from aftereffects so I try to locate it and when I find the file in my folder and click on it and try to say to premier this is the file this is what you need to link to premier tells me that Adobe After Effects does not exist on my computer and I need to download it 1st. I can open the file in aftereffects just fine. Anyone have this problem ?

I think that the text linking might be a bit weird, but i havent tried it so i dont know. Try to right click the text in the premiere pro timeline and click "replace with after effects composition" and drag the background footage into that comp.

Turns out Adobe After Effects updated but premier pro hadn't updated yet so when I updated premier it started working again.
