Linking - Replace with After Effects composition, Premiere and After Effects

 

Hi,

 

I'm in PPro beta (25.6.0 b50) and AE beta (25.6.0 b49)
Select clips in PPro timeline > Replace with AE comp doesn't work as expected! AE is opened but without any clips in the comp timeline.
Neither does copy & paste PPro > AE or drag & drop.
I've also tired the non-beta version and while some combination works it is very unpredictable and difficult to link and switch between applications for some reason. Why is that? Anyone experiencing the same?
Linking has never been a problem before in this scope.

    Same issue. After Effects opens but withot importing the clip.

    What version of Premiere Pro and After Effects are you using? Are you using the beta version? If yes, can you check if the problem persists in the official release?

    Thanks for reaching out and sharing the details. I just gave it a try. The Beta and the official versions work fine on my end. Are there any error messages? Is it happening with a specific project or media? Try restarting your computer if you haven't already.

    Thanks for checking this out! Yes, I have restarted and, no, I have problems in all projects (more than 3 tried).

    1. Selecting clips in Ppro timeline and replace with AE comp > result in AE opens with an empty comp (no clips from Premiere)
    2. Copy & paste not working between AE and Ppro
    3. Drag  & drop not working between AE and Ppro

     

    New things on my PC.

    • I now use two network cards (Fiber & Ethernet). I can import files from both without problems

    Suspect problem

    • I'm on a Enterprise MS windows 11 work environemt. I'm not local admin. Can this trigger some unexpected behavior?

    Thanks for sharing the details. The user account permissions can play a role. If you can, create a new local admin account and test the functionality. It'll narrow down the issue.
