I'm trying to find lossless export settings. Every tested codec I import in the original project and look at the difference mode. Every time I see a little difference. I tried avi none, Quicktime Animation, tif, png, hevc lossless. What am I doing wrong?

Any idea why it is happening?

If you are not getting consistent color the first thing to check is your color management and monitor calibration.

I export avi none and the colors are exactly the same. Export to png looks brighter. sRGB colorspace in both cases.

what have you got there? 8bit project? 16bit? show us screenshots. make sure you are previewing in 100% magnification and full resolution. for 8bit lossless, QT would suit just fine. for 10bit you can use QT Dnx or QT GoPro Cineform.

I see, you should see the same result but I am not sure difference mode in this case works as expected to match accurately between the two. tested in my system using CC2018 15.0.1: exporting a 8bit result of an 32 bit image, once important back shows the same result visually, but it's the difference mode that's not accurate. it's giving me totally different result. just for comparison, I used print screen of my composition window, then imported it to Ae and placed the exported mov above it and difference mode showed 100% percent black.
