Low quality video both in playback and export (nothing works!)

Hey community,

I am at a loss, I am so fed up I recorded a video instead of typing here and uploading images.

Some additional info I didn't include in the video
Hardware acceleration is on, my rig is super powerful
windows 10
128GB ram

RTX3090
Files are on an SSD drive
Scratch disk is on a seperate SSD drive (enough space on both)
Everything is set to full in preview.

video looks like total crap, pixlated and low quality,
both in preview and after exporting through AMC (tried many settings, nothing works)

I am not an after effects master, but I am by no means a novice either,
I use after effects for 10+ years and I am completly lost here, I think it's a codec issue.
I installed the windows 10 hevc codec

Sometimes the video looks good but than it "jumps back" to low quality, completly random...

You created a bug report and they can't be edited. I'm converting this into a regular discussion. As for your issues I would simply transcode the files in Handbrake. Everything about them seems weird. They have pulldown where there shouldn't be any and in fact they even seem to have fields/ interlacing. That's a typical sign of a camera misconfiguration or the camera producing out-of-spec files to begin with such as some cheap GoPro knock-offs.

Hey, thanks for replaying,

1. I still can't edit
2. this is not a "cheap GoPro knock off", it's a dashcam, and a high quality at that.
3. I am not sure what is "Handbrake" but the videos are not interlaced and they are infact progressive.
if it seemd to you like that is because of the screen capture.
4. I still think it's a bug
