Low resolution in AE projects even with 1920x1080 comps — looking for causeHello, I’m experiencing
Hello,
I’m experiencing a persistent low‑resolution issue in After Effects, and I can’t figure out the cause.
Here are the details:
Compositions are set to 1920×1080 (Full HD).
Draft 3D is OFF.
Adaptive Resolution is OFF (Preview set to Full).
VC Orb plugin is being used (textures are 6K resolution).
Color settings in the project: 32 bpc.
Preview scaling is 100% in the Comp panel.
Output still looks noticeably softer compared to tutorials using identical settings.
Things I’ve checked:
The textures are confirmed to be high‑resolution (6K JPG).
Gamma/Brightness settings match the tutorial.
I’ve tested with multiple comps and cameras.
Additional example:
The same low‑resolution effect happens in another comp where I use CC Ball Action (screenshot attached). Even at 1080×1080 or 1920×1080 comps, the small elements look blurred compared to the expected sharp result.
Question:
What else could cause low resolution in both plugins/effects when all settings appear correct? Could it be related to:
Comp size vs. texture size?
Render pipeline settings (Final vs. Draft in plugins)?
AE downsampling in preview or export?
Anti‑aliasing behavior in certain effects?
Screenshots of both projects and settings are attached.
Thanks in advance for any ideas — I’m stuck and can’t figure out what I’m missing.
