In general, the scripting and extensions APIs of After Effects are identical for Win and Mac. But if you do OS-specific things, like executing system commands, then you have to implement them for Win and Mac separately. That will most likely not be possible if you don't have a Mac for testing.

Thank you for the reply, that's what I thought and actually there are some instructions that are used to execue system commands.

I would imagine you'll need a Mac in order to save it as a compatible file type - if their appstore is anything to go by.  It might be worth asking on a forum like http://aenhancers.com/ - you might be able to able to partner up with someone.
