Merge layers from different AE files into one AE file

Hello!

I was hoping someone could help me figure out how to merge all the layers (and their animations) from 5 different AE files and compile them into 1 AE file.

The client needs the files to be in vectorized form so they can turn it into a LOTTIE file so therefore i cann't simply make 5 videos and merge them in a new AE file. I need all the actual layers from each of the 5 AE files in one.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

You misunderstand. You import the already animated AE projects into one another. I suggest you read the online help. It's a basic workflow

Import the projects into an empty project. Done.

Hello!

I tried this but it simply gives me the original illustrator files not converted to the shape layers. and none of the meticulous animatino i did with those shape layers are there either.
