Hi,

is it possible to first adjust the grid of a mesh warp to an image BEFORE the image is warped? The image is a river seen from above (google maps) and i would like to adjust the grid-points to the river and then animate the points...

Thanks for help!

Oliver

The original look of the mesh doesn't matter. Its the distance moved by each mesh point from one keyframe to the next. And just to clarify, due to what the mesh represents, there is no way to have a mesh that is not a grid show your unaltered image. May be good to check here: Apply Distort effects in After Effects

Sure -- you adjust the size of the mesh in the layer's Effect Control pane.  You can see the size of the mesh in the comp window.  If you can't, there are other issues going on.

    Hi Dave,

sorry, i dont understand that. I would like to adjust every single mesh point over the image as "start mesh" (the image stays original) and than begin to warp...

    Is it possible??

    Thanks!

    What's the point of this?

You can just take the initial positions of the warp points and animate them to the desired warp. If you want to reverse this animation, just switch the keyframe time position.
