After Effects CS3 won't open on mac.  Message is 'Metadata file is missing'.  can't find fix on WWW.

CS3? On what Mac? These old versions haven't been compatible with newer Macs for ages, so this may simply never work.

Thanks for the reply,

My mistake, it can't be CS3. It's a current monthly paid for AE, updated as far as possible with High Sierra.

It's been working just fine for a couple of years.
