Put the Photoshop matte layer above the other layer in the AE timeline.

 

From the TrkMat (Track Matte) column in the timeline, select the appropriate Matte option - in your case, probably Alpha Matte.  You may need to make the TrkMat column visible in the timeline if it's hidden.
