Missing bezier path and handles on shape

Hello I am new to AE and I have an animation with shape layers that i have converted to bezier paths. Everything was working with being able to amend the points of the paths on the shapes but suddenly none of the shapes with show the paths and then handles and they only have bounding boxes. Its nothing to do with rotobezier, can anyone help please? I've attached image where you can see ive selected the path but only the bounding box will appear.

Thank you for your reply however when i select the path, nothing is shown, no bounding box and no path, only when i click back on the group does a box show again. It so odd.
