Question

Mocha AE 2019 not applying tracking data properly?

Hello!

I am currently trying to remove a smudge on a pillow. I opened up Mocha and tracked the object, and Mocha tracked it beautifully. But when I go into AE, Create the track data, and try to export it onto a clip, It doesn't track it properly? All the parameters should be set, yet AE insists that my beautiful pillow track is actually in the bottom corner of the screen and not moving. Any help?

Video attached should cover everything.

This is a classic user error when applying Mocha data to an AE layer using Corner Pin.

AE's corner pin defaults to using the pins from the composition's size. If you want to apply text to match a Mocha track, you should either scale your text layer up to full frame and pre-comp it before applying the Mocha data OR you can use the "align Surface" button in Mocha to position the track to full frame.

The general rule of thumb when applying Mocha data is the Insert/graphic layer should be the same dimensions as the AE comp.

It looks like you did not apply the tracking data correctly when using Mocha. Have you gone through the tutorials? Are you shure you have applied the right layer's tracking data. Is this the first time you have used the Mocha AE plugin? I use Mocha all the time and have no problems and I know of no bugs in the current versions of AE/Mocha AE.

If you are new to the the latest Mocha AE I suggest you start here: https://borisfx.com/products/mocha-ae-cc-mocha-for-after-effects/
