.mogrt file is working for me but not for others

Hi, I created a .mogrt template for my colleagues with text and a slider control for repositioning a composition on the x-axis.

The .mogrt file is working fine on my computer in AE and Premiere.

On other computers you can only edit the text. The slider isn’t doing anything.

On all devices we have installed the latest version of Premiere Pro and After Effects.

@Ole O. Currently, a couple of things can be done to work around the existing language limitation:

  1. When using the pickwhip to create expression links to effects or expression control properties, hold the Alt/Option key to ensure the link uses the numeric index of the property rather than the name. The index will let the link work in all languages.
  2. Always use custom names for expression controls and effects. This ensures that the names are not changed if the project or .mogrt is opened in AE/PPro running in a different language.

Another option is to use paid third-party product Expression Universalizer to process projects before exporting them as .mogrts. It edits all expressions in a project to use language-agnostic links.

Please also add your vote to this request to allow expressions to be universal across different languages, which helps us to prioritize improving this: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-ideas/universal-expressions/idi-p/14506613

If I recall correctly, the creation must be done in the international English version of Ae for mogrts to work in other languages. But @JohnColombo17100380 can correct me if that has changed.

HI @Joost van der Hoeven,

Unfortunately, there is no international English mode that allows expressions or .mogrts to work in all languages.

Thanks for debunking this.

Thank you for your reply. We already figured that out after a lot of time. Is there any possibility to work around this?

Hi @Ole O.,

Thank you for reporting this issue. Are you and your colleagues both running After Effects/Premiere in the same language? Many expression links to controls like Sliders will break if the language of either After Effects or Premiere doesn't match the language the AE project or .mogrt was authored in.

Can you please share your system info? Like OS and version, CPU, RAM, GPU vRAM, Ae version? Thanks. Also a screen grab of your issue will be helpful.
