Hello there,

so I was looking around the web to find out how to morph between multiple images, i found alot, but always with only 1 shape/path in each icon.

So for example, I have 2 images, one of them with 2 pathes and the other one with 5 pathes. How can i morph 2 pathes into 5 and the other way around?

Hope you can understand what i mean, thanks in advance

Edit: here's an example of my problem, left a icon with 3 shapes, right a icon with 5 shapes.

no easy solution here. careful planning is needed.

the W could be separated to 3 paths that are overlapping that could be transformed to the symbol to the right.

    3 ways of approaching this:

    1. try to use mask interpolation as best as you could. read through here: https://www.provideocoalition.com/managing_moving_masks/

if this does not work and not smooth enough:

    2. place artwork #2 as a locked reference underneath artwork #1 and manually keyframe the vertices of artwork#1 until they align perfectly in place.

    or

    3. try this clever method by my friend Rick Gerard using Illustrator blend tool which does a much better job than Ae in morphing one complex shape to another:
