Motion Track - Can't select Null object

Hi,

I'm trying to stabilize a footage using the Track motion.

I've set my trackers, I've got all my keys, now I'm creating a Null object to link it as the target of my tracker.

Problem: when I edit the target of the tracker on the footage, the Null object is greyed out in the drop down box, I just can't select it.

Any idea ?

Many thanks

I've found it! Had the same issue and it was driving me nuts. As Mylenium said, stabilization only applies to the selected layer. You have to change the track type to transform. That way you can apply your tracking to your object without having to duplicate keyframes or pickwhip the thing. Hope this helps 🙂

I'm in the exact same boat, did you ever find an answer?

Hello,

Unfortunately no. I didn't happen all the time though, but I've no idea what I did when it worked, sorry, and good luck 🙂

Nothing wrong here. Stabilization is applied to the source layer, because that's the whole point ultimately - it manipulates the layer transform to keep things centered. You have to apply it and then copy the keyframes if you want to use it elsewhere.
