motion tracking video ONTO image

Hey!

I am trying to attach a [pen-tooled] video layer (a face) onto an image layer which I have keyframed into motion (a body).

The standard tracking procedure is not working for me: When I turn on the tracker, and try to select the motion source as my image layer, my image layer is greyed out, only my video layer is selectable.

What is a different way to motion track which would allow me to motion track my keyframed image of a body?

Why would you even? Your whole workflow is terribly crooked and makes no sense at all. If you animate something in AE, you simply reuse its motion by linking things up with parenting, expressions or copy & pasting keyframes. In any case, without more useful information like screenshots nobody can tell you how to proceed best.
