.MOV video files import and export with washed out colors

I was given .mov files and they imported washed out in after effects. I used an adjustment layer to fix the colors and it looked good, but when I was ready to export, the colors were messed up again.

I've tried following things from gpt, like trying to interepret the footage, change the color profile settings, all sorts of stuff but nothing is working. It's tough to find anything about this online and I need to get this fixed.

Im running the latest version of AE.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jeremy268763589kpv,

Have you tried importing the exported media back into After Effects & checked if the preview is still looking washed out? Also, please share a screenshot of the Color tab (under File > Project Settings) & the Export Settings that you have used.

Thanks for the message. Have you checked Project Settings > Color Tab? See if a different Working Color Space might help. I hope another user or product team might chime in with additional help. Sorry for the frustration.

I was able find this info about the video itself in quicktime (see attached). Does this help you or anyone decipher further what my problem is and how I can fix the issue in after effects? I've been trying other color modes but i'm not sure if im doing it properly.
