Multiple parent layers

I'm playing around with simple character animation in AE using a combo of keyframe and traditional methods. I'd like to see what is possible without getting into Duik platform, if I don't have to.

So a head shapefile is parented to the torso, which is parented to the legs, the legs being the "driver". But for legs I'm using different sequential shapefiles, animating the movement traditionally.  How can I parent the head and torso layers to multiple leg shapefile layers along the timeline?

Thanks.

You can't. Which is the point. This is done by blending the parent weighting with different auxiliary constructs and expressions such as DUIK does and as can be set up with other scripts like Good parent on AEScripts.com as well or you create your own version of the thing.

I guess the good thing is if I go Duik I probably won't have to mess around with traditional animation, and keeping track of all those shapefiles.
