Music Video Project

Hi everyone,

As part of my dissertation project, I'm making a 5 minute audiovisual piece and I could do with some pointers in the right direction with after effects as I'm a complete beginner.

I've written the music already, and plan to overlay real footage I've filmed with animated geometric patterns. I don't want anything too complex, but I'd like to be able to create moving spheres/ cones / squares which flash and animate in conjunction with the music. I imagine the design of the shapes / colouring and textures to be fairly basic.

I have about 2 months to learn and execute this so any pointers in how best to spend my time / where to start would be greatly appreciated.

also any which plugins might be of use (I'm willing to pay for the better ones if it saves me some time).
