Must RELOAD FOOTAGE for INTERPRET FOOTAGE changes to take effect; also other interlace issues

I may have to go back to a previous version where Intrepret Footage works correctly.  I have tried everything, and it's an After Effects problem.  Works as it should on my Mac running High Sierra, but AE 2024 and 2025 have deep problems when dealing with proper interlace now.

There are more bugs with this interlace business I will explain if this topic progresses; having to Reload Footage for Intrepret Footage Upper/Lower field and OFF (progressive) changes to take effect - this is a huge problem for me.  Running Sequoia 15.1.1 on Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB with 64GB or RAM.

Everything works reliably as it should in After Effects 17.6.0 (2020).  I'll be grateful for any help, ideas or suggestions.
