My after effect is lagging using 2025 version

Question

I’m currently using an older version of After Effects available through Creative Cloud, but it’s lagging and crashing frequently. Sometimes, I’m not even able to work for 5 minutes without facing an issue.

I’m using a 2019 MacBook Pro with an Intel i9 processor, and I’m facing performance issues with the newer versions of After Effects. I would like to install an older version, preferably from 2018–2019, so that I can work more smoothly.

I don’t need the latest features or updates. I just want a stable version that runs smoothly on my Mac.

Hi, unfortunately older AE versions from 2018–2019 aren't available through Creative Cloud or any official Adobe channel. Only 25.x and 26.x can currently be installed.

A 2019 MacBook Pro with i9 should still be able to run AE 25.x reasonably. Do you mind sharing details of your issue and your system specifications?
