Question

My keyframes won't do anything

I was editing footage and tried to play it back after, and all i saw was the still image i was attempting to get to move, not doing anything. I checked back multiple times, confirmed there were position keyframes [and rotation keyframes], played it back one again, and nothing happened. This is my first time using AE, so im a little frustrated about what's going on.

You should have at least two keyframes for something to happen.  You set one keyframe...move forward in time and then change the attribute value.  Once you set the first keyframe, each time you change the attr value (pos, rot, etc.) a new KF should automatically be added.  However if you change the value on an existing keyframe the keyframe with just be overwritten.  You should take warren's advice and follow a beginners tutorial if you haven't already.
