My Rendered After Effects Comp file just disappeared after rendering!!!

Hi, I just spent over 13 hours rendering a short 25-28 second video on After Effects 2020 (Version 17.6.0) on MacOS running Catolina, and I can't find the file anywhere. Usually when I render a comp it will be titled "Comp 1_2" and so on, which it was in AE when rendering. I left it overnight to render since I was aware the render time would be a while, and I come back with it saying "finished". But when I go to finder find the file in order to convert it to ".mov" to ".mp4" in AME the file wasn't there at all. I searched through all of my folders, checked using spotlight, and checked all downloads but nothing. I even tried using a technique using terminal in order to bring up the file, but it didnt show up. This has never happened before no matter how many effects I've used or how long the render time was, so I'm incredibly confused. I'm attempting to re-render everything right now but if there's a way to get the original file that would be great. Please help if you can!! Also if there's any specs ypu need in order to help let me know.

Correct answer Rick Gerard

The file path should be in the Render Queue. Open it up, spin down the last render and you will see a link to your file:

If it is not there, then check for render errors.

We can't know. Your info is at best vague and outside that it's simply a matter of your sloppy naming likely biting you in your behind. Files could be overwritten due to identical names or you no longer know which of your 500 "Comp 1_2" files is the one you need. We as complete strangers simply can't have any idea how you organize stuff on your computer.

No the name always chages that was just an example. I'm very organized with my naming of the files.

changes*. The naming system of 'comp 1_blah blah", is the default for my After Effects.
