New ae doesn't like Illustrator files
I upgraded and suddenly ai files won't play back. Huge wait times just to preview the slightest change. Some weird bugaboo.

Hi Kevin, thanks for getting in touch, problem solved - I had ray trace renderer turned on and the graphics were in 3d. Switched to classic and it's back to normal
