No or wrong import for clipping masks from a illustrator file

I've created an illustration in Illustrator which I would like to animate in After Effects later. To create less of a 2d illustration, I've added some shadows and structures using the draw inside mode. As the structures I want to use are pixel based, I've created graphic symbols to keep the file size low. Then I created a clipping mask to be able to change the color of the structures.

Everything worked perfectly fine but now when I tried to import the file as a composition in After Effects the structures don't appear at all or are being imported with less intensive colors.

Does anyone know what's the problem or what I could try to solve this?
