No preview in preview panel 17.1.2

The preview panel doesn't show my composition. This didn't start until I update to 17.1.2. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it. And when I close AE, it doesn't close all the way.

Thanks for reaching out. We'd need more information so that we can troubleshoot the issue properly.

What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS)?
Are you using any third-party plug-ins for After Effects? If so, what happens if you remove them?
Is it happening with all the project or only the once you created in this version (17.1.2)?

Can you share a screen shot? Does the tab at the top of the panel say composition? If it says layer or footage please switch over to the composition tab.
