Non-Latin fonts not working

I'm in the process of changing the text elements on a project to a Japanese font. I had changed several a few days ago, then today when I change any, they will simply show as a Latin(English) font. None of my Japanese fonts work. Just to troubleshoot, I even tried Arabic, Hebrew, etc, and none work.

The text that I had changed previously still appear in Japanese - only new changes are exhibiting the problem.

The fonts are definitely installed, and I even downloaded a couple of new Japanese fonts to try.

Are you just switching the font, or also re-typing the text? Mose Unicode-aware Japanese typefaces also include the Latin alphabet.

If you copy the text from AE, and paste it into something else (Word, InDesign, Photoshop) do you get the Japanese characters you expect, or the Latin ones?

I figured it out, and yes, it was my fault. Let's just pretend this never happened.
