Simple question from a newbie:

If I have a shape (or null object) at some arbritary position and  rotation, is there a simple way (or shortcut) to view perpendicular to it's plane?

No. You would have to create an expression or script or parent the camera accordingly. AE has no "align view/ workplane" as some 3D programs or CAD tools do.

OK thanks, although slightly disappointing! I think pre-composing is probably then the best option?
