Nothing will show up

Every time I import something and move it into the work space nothing shows up at all. It still asks me if I want to start a new composition. I have looked it up and even uninstalled and re-installed after effects multiple times as well as downloaded previous versions, I have ae CC 2018, it just doesn't work. On my laptop it works completely fine, however on my computer it doesn't. I can still split clips and add transitions, however I can't see what i'm doing. I could just be really stupid and not know what i'm doing, but i just want some help so I can continue doing what I love. Please help me, i have been trying to fix this for some time now.

    Nobody can tell you much without exact info like system info. in any case, start by updating your graphics driver and check your display settings in the prefs and the comp settings.
