Number Jumping Effect-

I would tie the values in the text layer to the rest of the animation using expressions. There may be some complex math involved, depending on how you drive the other animation. 

Another approach would be to drive the numbers with an Effects Control Slider, then take the values generated in the text layer and use them to generate the heartbeat pulse. It all depends on how you have set up the comp.  Here is a pointer with the position modified by the text layer value:

With a little more math you could get the value of the slider to trigger a heartbeat rate that makes sense. If we had any idea about your workflow we could make some more meaningful suggestions. Expressions are the key to making this kind of effect simple. Without them, you are stuck with a bunch of keyframes.

Cropped screenshots that don't show us how you set up your project are pretty useless when it comes to figuring out your workflow and making suggestions. It also helps to embed the screenshots. Uploaded ones are a real pain to see.
