Object's position "handles" disappeared to make path curve

I'm trying to make a little rocketship fly in a circle before going off screen. After the first position keyframe, the circle that allows you to bring up the handles to make the line curve disappear. How do I bring it back so I can continue to curve the path with the other keyframes?

At the top in the toolbox is the Pen tool, hold down until other tools appear right there. Among them is the Convert Vertex Tool, choose it and with it click on the point to create or eliminate the Handles that allow you to have better control of the paths and make curves in this case of the Position.
