Question

Older versions of software missing

I've found out that my Creative suite has just updated, the Creative Cloud app was not open, just by itself, the moment I turned on my PC.

So now I don't have access/can't find my older versions of Adobe software that I was using yesterday (same PC, same account).

I had After Effects 2019, 2018 and 2015 installed, now I only have 2020.

Clicking on previous versions of After Effects in Creative Cloud App offers me to instal 2019 version only.

Can someone explain to me what is the logic behind this?

Removing existing versions from PC, automatically installing the new 2020 version and not offering older versions anymore?

Any help?

Thanks for the reply Peru Bob.

I do need 2018 for some client work, just "2018 is not available" is not very helpful.

There has to be a way to install AE2018?

Adobe's relatively new policy is that only the current and previous versions are available:

I get the policy, and my "auto update" option was turned on, no arguing with that.

But the stuff that triggers me is:

A) Update with no message, not even "Enjoy our new versions!".

B) Updating while Creative Cloud not running (there was no tray icon as there is while running).

C) Uninstalling other versions with no question/request towards the user.

2018 is not available.

You should disable automatic updates in preferences in the CC Desktop App.

I have the same issue. I need After Effects 2018, but the "three dots" in the Creative Cloud app give me only AE 2019 and AE 2020!

Did you find a solution?
