Once again, problems with MXF files and version 24.
In versions 24.4 and 24.5, I get glitches during the preview that remain when rendering the compositions in some random frames. If I clear the cache, they disappear, but when I preview again, they appear in different frames.


I transferred the project to another computer within the company, with a completely different configuration. Both computers are running Windows 11 but have different processors and graphics cards, and the same thing happens, so I rule out that it’s my computer. On the second computer, there are also hardly any third-party plugins installed that could cause any incompatibility.


I have tried all the 24 versions, and it happens with all of them. Reinstalling version 23, everything works perfectly, no problems at all.


It’s a nightmare to be in this situation, having to start projects from scratch that were already very advanced when downgrading the version. The hours of work we have to endure due to not having stable versions are immense.

    Sorry for the issue.

    Could you share the details of the machines you have tested on? Are they both using an Nvidia GPU? There are some reports of glitches with the latest and a previous version of the Nvidia GPU driver. You can try downgrading that if it's the Nvidia GPU you're using. If not, can you try exporting using Media Encoder with the Software Encoding?

    Thank you for your response, @nishu_kush . Indeed, both machines have Nvidia cards. One has a 4060 and the other a 1080Ti, both with the latest Nvidia Studio drivers version 555.99.

    I downgraded the driver version as you suggested, and on the machine with the 4060, the problems have disappeared. However, the one with the 1080 still shows glitches, and not just in After Effects; Premiere is also showing issues now.

    Both are running version 24.5 of the software. I tried version 24.1 on the latter, and it seems to work well without errors.

     

    Transcoding the MXF files to ProRes 422 with Media Encoder makes the problems disappear. It's an inconvenient solution if, like me, you have hours of recorded material and tight delivery deadlines, but it works. I prefer to work with version 24.1 and wait for these MXF bugs to be fixed.

      Sorry, I forgot to mention that the version of the Nvidia Studio Driver I have installed now is 552.22.
