Opacity Keyframes not applying in export in After Effects

I'm trying to export a video in after effects composed of just a video layer and above it a layer that's that shape, and I'm trying to animate the opacity to make it disappear at certain points which I know I did for sure since it was invisible in the timeline, but now as I'm about to export, it's the same opacity for the entire length of the video.

Cropped screenshots that are not embedded* don't tell us anything at all about your workflow or your project so diagnosing the problem is nearly impossible. Take a screenshot of the entire UI showing the modified properties of the problem layer and describe your workflow including rendering and we'll have a chance to help you figure out what is going on.

So I have that shape and all its effects and things in a pre-composition layer with the video layer below it, I turned on the stopwatch for opacity on that pre-comp and added keyframes, and I could see them working when I played them in the timeline, then went to export it to find this problem, someone somewhere else said that it could be fixed by exporting as Apple Prores which supports alpha, but it's still not budging for me.
