Open Using Rosetta" warning in AE

When I open AE 24 on my Apple M-2 laptop I get the message:

to run After Effects in a compatible mode, choose Get Info in the application context menu and enable Open using Rosetta.

I go to the AE app and right click on the app, go to Get info but when the screen comes up there's no reference to Rosetta. (see attached).

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, TW

Hello,

23.6 allowed me to open, evidently in Rosetta, but it did give me the warning window, which I've attached here.  Of the ones listed in the window, I only use PremierePro (vers 24.0) and Media Encoder (24.0.2).

Do you think the plugins offering difficulty loading in 24.2 will ever be updated? Just asking.

Thanks,

Tony

You're good with the 23.6 until you try to use the Dynamic Link with Premiere Pro or Media Encoder. You need to have the same version of the apps in order to use Dynamic Link. The good thing is, you can keep 24.x and 23.x at the same time.

About the plug-ins, the manufacturers of the plug-ins are the best point of contact for this question. However, sooner or later, most plug-ins get the update to support the latest versions.

Feel free to reach out if there are any other questions.

Thanks,

Nishu

Hi YankeeRebel 65,

Thanks for writing in.

The Rosetta mode is not available in After Effects 24.0, so it's expected that it's not available in the Get Info panel. Can you try opening After Effects from the Creative Cloud desktop app and see if you still get the message?

Let us know.

Thanks,

Nishu

Hello,
As you suggested, I opened AE from the desktop Creative Cloud app with the same results...asking me to click on the Rosetta in the Get Info dialog box. When I updated to AE 2024, an app named "Adobe After Effects Render Engine 2024" was also installed as a standalone app with AE 2024. For giggles, I went to "Get Info" on that app, and there was the checkbox for Rosetta! I clicked it and then booted "Adobe After Effects Render Engine 2024" " but..it gave me the same warning box as the regular AE app does. Should I go back to a previous version of AE or suffer through and wait for Rosetta on 2024?
Thanks much!
Tony

BTW, I'm using OS 13.3 Ventura.
