Hi Adobe.

Optical Flares is a plug-in many many designers use, it is an integral tool in AE, and now its not available, and the 2024 version of AE has no Rosetta.

Please look into these compatability issues urgently, they have cost users a lot of money.

Kind Regards

Paul

Try downloading the latest version and installing it. I have no problems with my M4 Max MacBook Pro with any Video Copilot plugins.

This is also happening on AE 2025, the plug in is unusable. and I'm not using a silicon Mac, still an Intel one.

The same issue here! I'm trying to execute Adobe Premiere Pro 24.0.3 but the app crashes when tries to execute the Optical Flares plug-in. I think it's a common problem of the 24.0 Adobe apps.

(I'm executing this in Windows 10) And I re-installed the app 6 times again and again.

I've just updated to AE 24.0.3 (Build 2) and Optical Flares are working for me. They also worked with 24.0.2.

I'm on an M2 with Sonoma as well.

Hi Mark, thanks. Mine wasn't working at all, I'll try again. But at the moment I'm doing what Nishu suggested, running 23.6 until I find a solution.

Try downloading the flares again from video copilot and reinstalling. I've had that work in the past.

Hi Paul,

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please try reaching out to the plug-in manufacturer and see if they can help or provide info on when the plug-in is going to be compatible with Apple Silicon. Meanwhile, you can install the 23.6. Installing version 23.6 will not remove the 24.0.3, you can keep both of them.

Note: Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions.

Thanks,

Nishu
