Optimize Multi-Machine rendering in After Effects

Hi, 

I've set up multi-machine rendering between our computers that are linked to one NAS-drive. 
At the moment when I render from After Effects the render time is slower than one computer, what can I do to optimize the render time?

I followed the guidelines for Render Farming - Render a still-image sequence with multiple computer:

NAS - QNAP TS-435XeU 4-Bay 32TB NAS w/ 4x8TB Red Plus Hard Drive
